Advertising Disclosure

We make money from verification badges, sponsored placements, a platform fee on gateway calls, and Score API subscriptions. Here is how that interacts with our rankings, consistent with FTC guidance on search advertising, native advertising and endorsements (16 CFR Part 255).

  • Organic scores and ranks are never for sale. They come only from automated measurement. Our scoring code has no access to billing or bid data.
  • Sponsored placements are always labeled. On web pages they appear in a separate, highlighted box marked Sponsored, next to the result and before any click. In API and MCP responses they are returned in a separate sponsored field with "sponsored": true and a plain-language label, so AI agents can tell them apart too.
  • The Verified badge is paid. It means we confirmed the provider controls its domain. It is not an endorsement and does not change the score.
  • Material connections. If we have any ownership, affiliate or other material relationship with a listed provider, we will disclose it on that provider's page.
  • Sponsored results are bought by auction. The highest bid in a category wins the sponsored slot and pays the second-highest bid plus $0.01 per selection.
